Presenting: Cinema Strange

Starting on February 1st the E-Film Blog will be taking a departure into unfamiliar territory with the start of Cinema Strange, a new feature that will be delving into the worlds of surrealist, experimental, avant-garde, arthouse, horror and exploitation cinema - this may seem like a wide spectrum, and it is, but the purpose of the feature is to highlight and explore works of world cinema that take risks, present unusual scenarios and use mise-en-scène to show us things that we've never seen before - things that are obscure, challenging, frustrating, offensive, enlightening. The feature will last between 2 - 3 months and will also run alongside my Kenji Mizoguchi review and the completion of my Powell & Pressburger and Long Goodbye seasons (both delayed due to internet problems). More will be revealed in the coming days but for now I provide a list of the films and filmmakers that I will be profiling on this journey.
