Il Posto (Ermanno Olmi, 1961) DVD Review

My review of Olmi's masterpiece can be found at 24FPS.

  1. unconventional film with subtle attention to details that reflect on our differences and idiosyncrasies. Milan was racing to rebuild itself for a modern world as told through a young man just embarking on his first real job earnings plus nursing a crush on a cute co-worker whose schedule keeps opportunity at a distance. Olmi's insight into the human habits and a keen sense of humor adds an intelligent, poignant telling of Milan in 1961 and the struggles of starting anew. great film. considered his masterpiece.
